MIXOLOGY
I'm fluent in all genres, but that doesn't mean your event should feature every kind of music...
Your reception music should be held together by a single (or at most two) genre(s). This helps form the 'spine' of what it to make the body of the evening. That body should dance...not need to see a chiropractor. In the morning, you and your guests should feel sore, but left wanting more.

It's true, you could do that. When it comes to playing music LITERALLY ANYONE CAN DO...POORLY.
